Pumpkin Carving Contest

The annual pumpkin carving contest was held on Saturday, October 29th, in the town square. This year's contest was the biggest yet, with over 100 entries. The pumpkins were judged on their creativity, originality, and overall execution. The grand prize winner was a pumpkin carved to look like the Union Creek Hotel. The pumpkin was carved by local artist, Sarah Jones. Sarah said that she was inspired to carve the hotel because it is such an iconic part of the town.

New Coffee Shop Opens

The Union Creek Coffee Company opened its doors on November 1st. The coffee shop is located in the old hardware store building on Main Street. The coffee shop offers a variety of coffee drinks, as well as pastries and sandwiches. The coffee shop is quickly becoming a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.

Mayor Retires

After 20 years of service, Mayor John Smith has retired. Mayor Smith was first elected in 2004. During his tenure, he oversaw the construction of the new town hall, the expansion of the library, and the creation of the Union Creek Farmers Market. Mayor Smith said that he is proud of the progress that Union Creek has made over the past 20 years. He said that he is looking forward to spending more time with his family and friends in his retirement.
